Tips on How to Cure Yeast Infection
We have all been the victims of the horrible symptoms of yeast infection. The itching, irritation, and burning that accompany this horrible malady is agony. So here are a few tips on how to cure yeast infection.
At Home Remedies
If you want some quick fixes for your yeast infection, but don’t want to go to the pharmacy or your local doctor, here are some remedies to try at home.
- Drink a glass of buttermilk every day for at least a week. This will help fill your body full of good bacteria that will fight off the overgrowth of yeast cells.
- Another home remedy that you could try is washing the affected area in apple cider vinegar.
- Or if the area is really itchy, add a clove of garlic to the apple cider and let it stew for a bit before applying the vinegar.
- You could also do specific changes in your diet such as adding high amounts of acidophilus in the form of pills or cultured yogurt or milk.

Over the Counter Remedies
If the home remedy route is not your thing, you could always try over-the-counter methods to cure yeast infection. Such medications are considered antifungal and produce strong chemical reactions in the body. OTCs can come in a onetime tablet, creams, ointments, or inserts. A few examples of OTCs used in yeast infection are Monistat, AZO, Vagisil, and Vagistat.
All essentially work in the same way, but some may use a one, three, or seven day period to work. It’s important to note that thrush and mouth yeast infections cannot be cured with over-the-counter medications and those suffering from these two cases of yeast infection need to consult a medical professional.
